Shipping Policy

Nothing in this Shipping Policy affects your statutory rights under applicable consumer protection laws, including the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Australian Consumer Law, or equivalent legislation in your jurisdiction.

This Shipping Policy forms part of Tesshin's Terms of Service. By placing an order with Tesshin, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to this policy.


1. Order Processing

Orders are processed within 1–3 business days from the date of successful payment authorisation, excluding weekends and Hong Kong public holidays.

Processing includes:

  • Final quality inspection
  • Order verification
  • Secure packaging

Processing time is separate from and additional to shipping transit time. During peak periods, promotional events, or product launches, processing may take up to 5 business days. Customers will be notified if significant delays are expected.


2. Shipping Origin

All Tesshin orders are shipped from Hong Kong SAR. Packages are dispatched via reputable international carriers including DHL Express, SF Express, UPS, and Hongkong Post, depending on destination and the shipping method selected at checkout. Your carrier will be confirmed in your shipping confirmation email.


3. Shipping Destinations

3.1 Supported Destinations

Tesshin ships to most countries worldwide. Supported destinations and applicable shipping methods are displayed at checkout.

Note on PO boxes: Delivery to PO boxes may not be available for all carriers or destinations. If you intend to use a PO box address, please contact us before placing your order to confirm availability.

3.2 Restricted & Prohibited Destinations

Tesshin currently does not accept orders for delivery to the following destinations:

Russia International sanctions — orders will be cancelled and refunded
Belarus International sanctions — orders will be cancelled and refunded
Ukraine Carrier services suspended due to ongoing conflict

Tesshin reserves the right to decline or cancel orders destined for countries subject to applicable trade sanctions, carrier restrictions, or embargoes, without prior notice. A full refund will be issued where an order is cancelled on this basis.

4. Estimated Delivery Times

The following delivery estimates apply from the date of dispatch (i.e. after processing):

These estimates are for guidance only and are not guaranteed. Delivery times may be affected by:

  • Customs inspections and clearance
  • Carrier delays and operational issues
  • Weather conditions or natural events
  • Destination country public holidays
  • Local courier handling and delivery conditions

Tesshin is not responsible for delays caused by carriers or customs authorities.


5. Shipping Fees

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the destination, selected shipping method, and package weight and dimensions. All applicable fees are displayed prior to payment confirmation.

Shipping fees are non-refundable once an order has been dispatched, except where applicable law requires otherwise (including where a right of withdrawal applies under EU or UK consumer law and the order has not yet been dispatched).

Where free shipping thresholds apply, these are displayed on the Tesshin website and at checkout. Tesshin reserves the right to modify or withdraw free shipping offers at any time.


6. Customs, Duties, Taxes & Import Fees

6.1 General

International shipments may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, VAT, GST, or other charges imposed by the destination country. Unless expressly stated at checkout, these charges are not included in Tesshin's product prices or shipping fees.

Customers are solely responsible for:

  • Paying any applicable customs duties, import taxes, VAT, or other government-imposed charges
  • Complying with all applicable import regulations in their country
  • Providing any documentation or information required by customs authorities

Tesshin is not responsible for delays, confiscation, or returns caused by unpaid duties, non-compliance with import regulations, or failure to provide required documentation. Please refer to Section 10 for the treatment of returned shipments.

6.2 Regional Customs Guidance

The following information is provided as general guidance only. Import regulations change frequently. Customers should verify current requirements with their country's customs authority before placing an order. This does not constitute legal or tax advice.


European Union

Orders shipped to EU member states may be subject to VAT at the applicable local rate, which ranges from approximately 19% to 27% depending on the destination country. Under EU Import One Stop Shop (IOSS) regulations, VAT on orders valued under €150 may be collected at checkout where Tesshin has registered for IOSS. Where VAT has not been collected at checkout, it will be assessed and collected by the customs authority or carrier upon delivery, typically alongside a carrier handling fee. Please review your order confirmation to confirm whether VAT has been applied.


United Kingdom

Orders shipped to the UK are generally valued below the £135 customs duty threshold, meaning no import duty applies. However, UK VAT (currently 20%) may apply. Where VAT is not collected at checkout, it may be assessed and collected by the carrier upon delivery. Your UK statutory rights are preserved in full and are not affected by this policy.


United States

Shipments from Hong Kong to the United States may be subject to applicable US import tariffs, including reciprocal tariffs on goods of Hong Kong origin that are currently in effect. Tesshin makes no representation regarding the current status of any de minimis exemption or tariff waiver applicable to Hong Kong-origin goods, which are subject to change by the US government. Customers are encouraged to check current US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations at cbp.gov before ordering. All applicable duties and tariffs are the sole responsibility of the customer.


Canada

Commercial goods imported into Canada via courier with a total value exceeding CAD $150 may be subject to customs duties and applicable taxes (GST, HST, or PST depending on the destination province). Customers should be aware that depending on the exchange rate at the time of import, a full Tesshin order may exceed this threshold and attract additional charges assessed by the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) at the time of delivery. These charges are the customer's sole responsibility.


Australia & New Zealand

Goods imported into Australia with a total taxable importation value of AUD $1,000 or less are generally exempt from customs duty and GST at the border. Most Tesshin orders are expected to fall within this threshold. New Zealand applies a similar threshold of NZD $1,000; orders below this value are generally exempt from GST at the border.


Brazil

Brazil imposes a flat 60% import tax on goods valued between USD $50 and USD $3,000, in addition to state-level ICMS taxes. The total landed cost of a Tesshin order in Brazil may significantly exceed the purchase price shown at checkout. Tesshin strongly recommends that customers in Brazil review current import regulations on the Receita Federal website (receita.economia.gov.br) before placing an order. Tesshin is not responsible for any additional charges imposed on Brazilian importations.


Southeast Asia

Import duty and tax rates vary significantly across Southeast Asian countries. Customers in Indonesia and Vietnam in particular should be aware that clothing imports may attract substantial duties and VAT upon delivery. Customers are encouraged to verify current thresholds and rates with their local customs authority before ordering.


Middle East

Shipments to the UAE may be subject to 5% customs duty and 5% VAT. Shipments to Saudi Arabia may be subject to 5% customs duty and 15% VAT. These charges are assessed upon import and are the customer's responsibility.


Other Destinations

Customers in all other countries should verify applicable customs duties, import taxes, and regulations with their local customs authority before placing an order.


7. Tracking

A shipping confirmation email containing your tracking number and carrier information will be sent once your order is dispatched. Please allow up to 48 hours for tracking data to become active after dispatch.

Tracking coverage varies by carrier and destination. In some regions, tracking updates may be limited once the package enters the local postal network. If you have not received a shipping confirmation within 5 business days of your order confirmation, please contact us at tesshin.bjj@gmail.com.


8. Delivery & Transfer of Risk

Risk of loss or damage transfers to the customer upon carrier-confirmed delivery to the address provided at checkout. Tesshin is not liable for loss, theft, or damage that occurs after an order has been marked as delivered by the carrier.

For concerns about packages reported as delivered but not received, please see Section 11.


9. Incorrect Shipping Information

Customers are responsible for providing accurate and complete shipping details at checkout, including full address, postcode/postal code, contact number, and any locally required identifiers (e.g. apartment or unit number, district, or building name).

Tesshin is not responsible for delays, failed deliveries, or lost packages resulting from incomplete or incorrect address information provided by the customer.

If you identify an address error before your order has been dispatched, please contact us immediately at tesshin.bjj@gmail.com. We will make reasonable efforts to correct the information, but modifications cannot be guaranteed once an order has been processed.

Once dispatched, address changes are not possible. Any additional carrier fees incurred as a result of address errors are the customer's responsibility.


10. Undeliverable & Returned Shipments

A shipment may be returned to Tesshin for reasons including:

  • An incorrect or incomplete shipping address provided by the customer
  • Failed delivery attempts (e.g. recipient unavailable, access issues)
  • Refusal of delivery by the recipient
  • Failure to pay applicable customs duties, taxes, or import fees
  • Failure to provide documentation required by customs authorities

Where a package is returned:

Tesshin will make reasonable efforts to contact the customer within 10 business days of the package being returned to our facility. Reshipment may be arranged at the customer's expense, subject to stock availability.

If reshipment is not possible or the customer does not respond within 30 days, Tesshin reserves the right to treat the order as abandoned.

Original shipping fees are non-refundable in all cases, except where required by applicable law.

Statutory rights are preserved. Where applicable consumer protection law in your jurisdiction entitles you to a refund or other remedy (for example, EU or UK consumers exercising a statutory right of withdrawal under applicable law), those rights are not affected by the above. Please refer to Section 15 and contact us to exercise your rights.


11. Lost, Missing, or Stolen Packages

Lost in Transit (Before Delivery)

If your tracking information shows no movement for an extended period, or your order has not arrived within the upper end of the estimated delivery window for your region, please contact us at tesshin.bjj@gmail.com.

Tesshin will initiate a carrier investigation within 5 business days of receiving your report. Investigation timelines vary by carrier and may take up to 21 business days. We will keep you updated throughout the process.

If a package is confirmed lost in transit by the carrier, Tesshin will offer the customer a choice of:

  • A replacement shipment dispatched at no additional cost, or
  • A full refund of the order value

Delivered but Not Received

Tesshin is not responsible for packages that are confirmed as delivered by the carrier but subsequently reported as missing or stolen. In such cases, Tesshin recommends:

  • Checking with neighbours or building management
  • Contacting the carrier directly with your tracking reference
  • Filing a report with local authorities if theft is suspected

Tesshin strongly recommends purchasing shipping insurance (see Section 13) for added protection.


12. Damaged Packages

If your order arrives visibly damaged, please:

  1. Before opening further, photograph both the outer packaging and the contents
  2. Contact Tesshin at tesshin.bjj@gmail.com within 5 business days of delivery, providing your order number, a description of the damage, and photographic evidence

Tesshin will assess the claim and liaise with the carrier where applicable. Depending on the outcome, Tesshin may offer a replacement, partial or full refund, or other appropriate remedy.

Prompt reporting assists with carrier claims and is appreciated, but failure to report within the stated window does not limit your statutory rights under applicable consumer protection law.


13. Shipping Insurance

Optional shipping insurance may be available for eligible orders at checkout. Where offered, insurance covers loss or damage in transit up to the declared order value, subject to the insurer's terms and claim process.

Tesshin strongly recommends purchasing shipping insurance for orders of significant value. Insurance is in addition to, and not a substitute for, your statutory rights.


14. Force Majeure

Tesshin shall not be liable for delays or failures in delivery caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • Natural disasters, pandemics, or extreme weather events
  • Acts of government, trade sanctions, import/export restrictions, or regulatory changes
  • Strikes, industrial action, or supply chain disruptions
  • Carrier operational failures or network outages
  • Cyberattacks or infrastructure failures

In the event of a force majeure, Tesshin will make reasonable efforts to communicate expected impacts and to fulfil outstanding orders as soon as reasonably practicable.


15. Statutory Rights

Nothing in this Shipping Policy excludes, restricts, or modifies any right or remedy you may have under applicable mandatory consumer protection law.

European Union: EU consumers have rights under the Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), including a 14-day right of withdrawal for distance purchases. This policy does not override those rights.

United Kingdom: UK consumers retain rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

Australia: Australian consumers have rights under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010) that cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified. This policy does not limit any consumer guarantee under the ACL.

Other jurisdictions: Consumer protection laws in your country may provide additional rights or remedies. Where any provision of this policy conflicts with mandatory applicable law in your jurisdiction, that provision is to be read down or severed to the extent necessary for compliance.

16. Changes to This Policy

Tesshin reserves the right to update or modify this Shipping Policy at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon publication on the Tesshin website. Where changes are material, Tesshin will take reasonable steps to notify registered customers.

Orders placed before a policy change is published are governed by the policy in effect at the time the order was placed.
