That's a gnarly combination. It was also what lead to Tesshin being born, directly on the Jiu-Jitsu mats of Hong Kong.
Day after day, round after round, we kept running into the same problem — nothing we wore felt right. Regular sports compression shirts were too thin, stretched out, and shredded under real grappling. Rashguards made for BJJ were often the opposite: ridiculously overpriced, suffocatingly thick, awkwardly cut, and loaded with loud flashy designs that didn’t reflect how we trained or who we were. Add in brutal international shipping fees, long wait times, and barely any serious local options, and it became clear: something was missing.
And in Hong Kong, this problem is amplified.
High heat. Relentless humidity. Endless sweating. There was no gear truly built for that reality. Nothing that stayed light when soaked. Nothing that breathed properly. Nothing that felt cool when everything else felt suffocating.
We realized that the gear we wanted didn't exist. So we decided to stop searching, and start creating.
